These photos are again without sports, some interesting different stuff for me, especially the snapping turtle at the end. I am finding myself wanting to get out and shoot again as often as possible and that is good for me. Working on getting a large group of photos together so that I can kick off a note card business.

Co-op photography studio seeks members

The Photo Studio Plus is now offering co-op membership for photographers. Located in Rockland at 75 Mechanic St. Sharps Point South, the Photo Studio Plus has a studio with a variety of backdrops and assortment of lights and props as well as a beautiful setting right on the coast for outdoor shots.

Both the studio and the outside areas are excellent for family photos, senior portraits, portfolio work, commercial product photography and many other types of photography.

All of this is now available to anyone desiring to become part of the Photo Studio Plus photography Co-op.

Memberships at the co-op will be in four levels as follows:

Level 1 – $50. per month – Four hours of inside studio time.

Level 2 – $100. per month – Eight hours of inside studio time.

Level 3 – $150. per month – 12 hours of inside studio time.

Level 4 – $200. per month – 16 hours of inside studio time plus additional time free as available.

These membership rates for studio rental are incredibly inexpensive and will not last long. We only have room for 20 memberships so don’t delay, get on board and take your photography to the next level.

All memberships include all backdrops, lights, shadow boxes, umbrellas, props and instruction on proper use if you have not used strobes before.

Members are also allowed to hang their work within the studio for two weeks at a time depending on space requests.

All memberships are a three-month minimum. Photographers can upgrade at any time as appointments demand.

Here are my favorite photos from the past week. I really like these, It was so nice to be outdoors with good weather. I also have been getting much more use out of my 300mm f2.8. I just love this lens. Been using it on both the D3 and the D300s. Next I want to try using it for some video on the D300s.

A little more variation this week in the photos. I am now finding that I am taking the time each day to go out and shoot. Some days are better then others, but at leaset I am taking the time to get out and about. Maybe its the fantastic weather we have had so far this spring, it has made me want to be outdoors more.

Looking for some volunteers

I am looking for a few, maybe five players from a baseball or softball team that would be willing to come into the studio for some Black & White sports portraits. I need some examples of what I am trying to offer as an addition to my regular team and individual photos.

You will need your uniform, bat, glove, spikes, catchers gear would be great and softballs and or baseballs.

Let me know if you are interested and what day of the week and time would be best for you.

Will take a couple of hours at most.

Here are the daily photos from the past week. As always each photo has a different story. The Seagull flew right past my window in the living room and was shot through the window. They were celebrating the warm spring weather after a night of rain as food was plentiful on the sidewalk and street. The Japanese Maple tree outside the house by the next day was showing buds as the warm weather continued, and spring was in the air for sure as the flowers in the house bloomed and outside the grass was starting to turn shades of green. The basketball are all from the Maine Open Basketball tournament where we saw some outstanding young players from middle school, jayvee and varsity level teams.

This coming week will be the rights of spring as the sports teams all have tryouts this week and I will be getting around to see them and capture the sights and sounds of the ritual of spring in the world of sports.
