The Photo Studio Plus is a photographers co-op designed to give photographers a studio to work out of and customers a place to get individual and family portraits at a reasonable cost.

We will be offering a variety of products and services at the Photo Studio Plus. Senior Portraits, family portraits, model portfolios, commercial advertising, weddings, school yearbook photography and more. We also will be offering our own line of note cards and photo cards, photo printing, editing, digital camera instruction classes and more.

Currently we have three photographers who all have a diverse background in photography.

Ron Hawkes … I have been an avid photographer for most of my life, turning professional in 2001 with the advent of Maine Sports Report & Photography, a sports action photography and news web site I still operate along with a growing group of photographers from around the state.

My favorite photography is people, young or old, candid or posed, shooting people and capturing the emotion in their faces is what photography means to me.

With the studio at The Photo Studio Plus I am able to offer along with my colleagues individual and family portraits with a variety of backdrops both in studio and outdoors.

I was born in Bangor, Me and after traveling around the county with a previous job, returned to Maine in 1991 and have lived here in the midcoast since 1992.

I currently live in Rockland with my wife Kathleen who is truly my inspiration in life. I have two daughters, Nicole who currently lives in Rockland and Jessica who resides in Richmond, Va.

I am available for most any kind of photography, have references available, and am willing to travel if needed.

Mark W. Strong Sr. – has more than 25 yrs. experience in photography using various genre to enhance his portfolio.

Strong provides a unique eye along with great perception in the development of sensational images. Realizing that photography is a special art, Strong uses the camera to produce unique images of reality and/or formal abstractions. Each subject determines the stylistic or aesthetic intentions of this photographer.

Strong began his photography career by capturing true to life imaging and was held accountable for the authenticity and the monetary value of each individual photograph.

Today, Strong focuses on his strong desire of perfecting each vision as one that is meaningful, and lasting! Growing up in a small community in a tight family network, Strong learned early the value of documenting the moment and making that instance, a product to carry forward.

Making the commonplace unusual is something that I strive to accomplish in my photography. I take photographs for the very reason that things in the world excite me.

Being a part of The Photo Studio Plus enables me to expand my photography skills and build a strong portfolio including family and individual portraits, weddings, fashion, and fine art photography in a studio setting, as well as outdoors.

I have worked part time for Maine Sports Report since 2003, covering youth sports games throughout the Mid Coast area. Having graduated from Colby-Sawyer College in 2007 with a bachelor’s degree in Studio Art (Photography Concentration) I spent 2008 in Arizona exploring and photographing a very distinctive landscape.
